Just getting started

so I'm not sure about this whole blogging thing yet, or what it will lead to, but with the significant changes coming up in the life of our family, I felt this might be a good way to keep friends and family tuned in with what's happening in our lives.

Suffice it to say, we feel God has called us to leave our comfortable life here in the Seattle area and go somewhere new starting early in 2010. We'll probably be out for between 6-8 months with the current plan of coming back for me to teach again next fall. We're not sure where we are going yet, but we've applied to be "mission interns" with the Mission Society, so we're waiting to hear back from them. In the meantime, I'm busy getting documents together to get passports for the whole family, and scheduling doctor's appointments for immunizations.

We were talking about this whole adventure last night with Drew and he said during prayers, "Dear God, thank you that we're going to be missionaries... can we please go to Hawaii?" :)

He's got his request in... we'll see, Drew, we'll see.

Nick is working his last week at the music store this week and then we'll both be busy selling our stuff, packing that which we'd like to keep, and moving out of our apartment by the end of November.

There are some funny and touching stories that lead up to this decision that I'll share later, but for now... keep praying for us that God would reveal to us where we should go and for how long.
